The Arkansas Municipal League’s new Trauma Assistance Program (TAP) for first responders was highlighted in a recent KARK News segment featuring the city of Sherwood.

Developed in response to Act 398 of 2023, which provides that Arkansas first responders are eligible for up to 12 counseling sessions with a licensed mental health professional following a traumatic on-the-job event, TAP is a voluntary program that helps cities and towns meet this obligation by managing every aspect of the administrative process in a confidential manner.

League members, please contact your field rep or Katie Bodenhamer, director and legal counsel, Municipal Health.
