North Little Rock celebrated the completion of its new 31,000-square-foot event center March 10 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and walk-through. Located at the site of the former city services building in downtown Argenta, the North Little Rock Event Center features the Centennial Bank Ballroom, a grand lobby and pre-function area, and a catering kitchen. The center can accommodate up to 1,000 guests for meals and up to 1,500 for other events and shows.
“It’s a vision now turned to reality,” Mayor Terry Hartwick told the several hundred who gathered for the occasion. “Definitely a win and a wow for our city, North Little Rock.”
Welcome to the neighborhood!
The center will be an anchor in the area between Main Street and the Simmons Bank Arena. There has been more than $80 million in private investment in those several blocks, the mayor said, with several projects, including a new hotel, already under construction. Adjacent to the center, the groundwork has begun on the lot that will be the home of Willy D's Dueling Pianos and a John Daly Pizza restaurant.
