The waterworks superintendent is responsible for the overall management, operation, maintenance and regulatory compliance of the city of Mayflower’s water and sewer utility system. This position ensures the safe, reliable and efficient production, treatment and distribution of potable water to all customers within the service area. The superintendent provides leadership to departmental staff, oversees capital improvement projects, ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, and manages the division’s budget and resources. Additionally, this position serves as the city’s plumbing inspector and natural gas inspector, responsible for performing inspections, reviewing plans, enforcing adopted plumbing and fuel gas codes, and ensuring installation work complies with state and local regulations.
