Municipal Health is expanding its coverage to two new Arkansas cities: Greenwood and Paragould. Their addition will extend comprehensive and affordable health plans to even more families and individuals across the Natural State.
“At Municipal Health, we are committed to ensuring that cities and towns in Arkansas have access to quality health care and first-rate service,” said Municipal Health Director Katie Bodenhamer. “Our expansion into Paragould and Greenwood is a testament to our ongoing dedication to providing the best possible health benefit solutions.”
For Greenwood, this marks the second time the city has enrolled in Municipal Health’s coverage, said Mayor Doug Kinslow. “I’ve been watching, listening and talking to the other mayors that have Municipal Health, and they all seem positive. We thought we needed to do this again. We started comparing, and there was a huge savings for us—very large, in fact. It was well over $100,000 in savings with comparable coverage. It’s just a good feeling. It’s like being part of a family, and the family is taking care of each other.”
The city of Paragould also realized significant savings by making the switch, said Mayor Josh Agee. “We were reviewing our rates with our previous carrier and decided to get a quote from Municipal Health. It resulted in roughly $400,000 in savings for the city of Paragould. We were able to take those savings and apply them to other city needs, including giving some raises. Not only did we get cheaper insurance, but we also feel the coverage is just as good, if not better. It’s been a win–win situation for us. This entire transaction has been an overall positive for our city employees and their families.”
Welcome to the Municipal Health family, Paragould and Greenwood! Municipal Health looks forward to serving you.
